Ingestion overage
If you exceed the daily cap, overage is billed at 6 USD per additional GB. You can also choose to have ingestion cut off at the cap instead of billing overage: that is the option that avoids billing surprises, at the cost of losing the rest of the day's telemetry.
What happens when you hit a limit
- Environments: you cannot register another until you remove one or change plan.
- Users: you cannot invite anyone else. Remember pending invitations already hold a seat.
- Ingestion: it is cut off or billed as overage, depending on what you chose.
- Retention: data older than your plan's window stops being available.
During the open beta there is no charge. The host covers Azure and the ingestion cap still applies so the bill does not run away.
